I love words. I love Scripture, quotes, song lyrics, books, you name it. And I especially love having those words on display for me to keep perspective and point me back to the truth when I'm having a hard time remembering it.
Since becoming a mom I find myself needing this all the more. When my daughter was born, I took a few small pieces of paper and wrote different verses and quotes to hang on my kitchen cabinet, where I'd see it often as I was in the midst of the seemingly mundane tasks of motherhood.
One quote in particular has stuck with me over the last two and a half years and continues to be one that reminds me of the Lord's grace to me and personal for care for me, not only in this season of having young kids, but in every stage of life. God cares for us personally and specifically. He is aware of every detail of our lives and meets us in the exact way we need, even when we don't know what that is. I'm so thankful for a God who loves me that way.
(If you're looking for a solid Biblical devotional that isn't fluffy or borderline heretical, I recommend Paul David Tripps "New Morning Mercies." It's one page per day with a Bible passage to accompany it for further study.)
