From a young age I went to church with my mom and sister. But it wasn't until college, after years of living life for myself in pursuit of what the world said brings happiness, that I realized there had to be more to life than what I was living for. And I knew that "more" was Jesus

Though I am still growing and learning, and by God's grace always will be, I praise the Lord for how he redeemed my life and for the undeserving grace he grants me daily to be the wife, mom, and woman he has created me to be.

I believe Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and the only way to have a relationship with God.

In second grade, we went to Disney World where I purchased my first (and still only) chef's jacket. And yes, it still fits. Like any typical eight year old, I requested cookbooks and kitchen supplies for Christmas and my birthday. I'd write my own recipes and found great joy in coming up with new ideas. Not much has changed from those days as a bright-as-the-sun blonde little girl.

As much as I enjoy creating a new recipe, I also love to share great dishes I find from others. In addition, I post tips, meal plan ideas and resources, and links to my favorite meals.

Hand-lettering was a hobby of mine before I even knew what it was called. I have no formal (or even informal) training on calligraphy or lettering. I don't use the fanciest of tools., but it's one of my favorite creative outlets.

Words are powerful to me–they help shift my perspective when I'm not seeing clearly, they provide comfort when going through hard times and are an expression of many thoughts, feelings and emotions. I most commonly letter Scripture verses, song lyrics and quotes.

My current favorite notebook for lettering is the Baron Fig Confidant with blank sheets, though I also love good old fashioned computer paper, canvas, cardstock or my daughter's coloring book =)

My current favorite pens are Microns, but truth be told, I previously only used G2 .07 pens, and still do sometimes.

I love to ask people what they are reading. It often makes for an intriguing conversation and a way to gain insight into a person's interests. In the sidebar you'll see what I'm currently reading. The top book is one that I'm reading a hardcopy of and the bottom book is what I'm listening to on audiobook. Since becoming a mom, I've especially deepened my love for audiobooks. It's an easy way to "read" while doing things like preparing dinner and cleaning the house.

If you have any questions, posts you'd like to me to share, or great books you're reading, I'd love to hear from you! I value your comments on my posts and you can also reach out to me through the connect tab.
